Good evening all.
I’ve just realised, we’re into the second week of February and I still haven’t done my Most Anticipated Releases post! Wow, Rhiannon. You’re on the ball, huh? So, anyway, here are my most anticipated releases for 2017!
Caraval by Stephanie Garber ~ Out Now!
Whatever you’ve heard about Caraval, it doesn’t compare to the reality. It’s more than just a game or a performance. It’s the closest you’ll ever find to magic in this world . . .
Welcome, welcome to Caraval―Stephanie Garber’s sweeping tale of two sisters who escape their ruthless father when they enter the dangerous intrigue of a legendary game.
Scarlett has never left the tiny island where she and her beloved sister, Tella, live with their powerful, and cruel, father. Now Scarlett’s father has arranged a marriage for her, and Scarlett thinks her dreams of seeing Caraval, the far-away, once-a-year performance where the audience participates in the show, are over.
But this year, Scarlett’s long-dreamt of invitation finally arrives. With the help of a mysterious sailor, Tella whisks Scarlett away to the show. Only, as soon as they arrive, Tella is kidnapped by Caraval’s mastermind organizer, Legend. It turns out that this season’s Caraval revolves around Tella, and whoever finds her first is the winner.
Scarlett has been told that everything that happens during Caraval is only an elaborate performance. But she nevertheless becomes enmeshed in a game of love, heartbreak, and magic with the other players in the game. And whether Caraval is real or not, she must find Tella before the five nights of the game are over, a dangerous domino effect of consequences is set off, and her sister disappears forever.
Because I forgot about this post, this book has already been released and is my current read. It’s so good so far, I’m loving Julian and Scarlett and I am so excited to see what’s going to happen to Tella and to finally meet Legend! In case you were wondering I got the tent on my cover!
Traitor to the Throne by Alwyn Hamilton ~ Also Out Now!
This is not about blood or love. This is about treason.
Nearly a year has passed since Amani and the rebels won their epic battle at Fahali. Amani has come into both her powers and her reputation as the Blue-Eyed Bandit, and the Rebel Prince’s message has spread across the desert – and some might say out of control. But when a surprise encounter turns into a brutal kidnapping, Amani finds herself betrayed in the cruellest manner possible.
Stripped of her powers and her identity, and torn from the man she loves, Amani must return to her desert-girl’s instinct for survival. For the Sultan’s palace is a dangerous one, and the harem is a viper’s nest of suspicion, fear and intrigue. Just the right place for a spy to thrive… But spying is a dangerous game, and when ghosts from Amani’s past emerge to haunt her, she begins to wonder if she can trust her own treacherous heart.
Again, another book that has already been released. I was lucky enough to have read this book early and my God was it amazing. Long but well paced, and I spent the last 20+ pages of the book with my mouth open. Alwyn has done such a fantastic job with the sequel, 5/5 stars from me.

A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J Maas ~ May 2nd
Looming war threatens all Feyre holds dear in the third volume of the #1 New York Times bestselling A Court of Thorns and Roses series.
Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin’s maneuverings and the invading king threatening to bring Prythian to its knees. But to do so she must play a deadly game of deceit-and one slip may spell doom not only for Feyre but for her world as well.
As war bears down upon them all, Feyre must decide who to trust amongst the dazzling and lethal High Lords-and hunt for allies in unexpected places.
In this thrilling third book in the #1 New York Times bestselling series from Sarah J. Maas, the earth will be painted red as mighty armies grapple for power over the one thing that could destroy them all.
Oh boy, oh boy am I excited for this one. What will Feyre do now she’s living with Tamlin again? How will Rhysand cope without her? WHY THE HECK ARE WE GOING TO SEE AMREN’S TRUE FORM AFTER HE SAID THEY’D ALL HAVE TO BE DEAD FIRST?!?!?!? Not to mention this is the first time we’ve read a concluding novel from Sarah, and I am terrified.
Because You Love to Hate Me by Ameriie~ July 11th
In this unique YA anthology, thirteen acclaimed, bestselling authors team up with thirteen influential BookTubers to reimagine fairy tales from the oft-misunderstood villains’ points of view.
These fractured, unconventional spins on classics like “Medusa,” Sherlock Holmes, and “Jack and the Beanstalk” provide a behind-the-curtain look at villains’ acts of vengeance, defiance, and rage–and the pain, heartbreak, and sorrow that spurned them on. No fairy tale will ever seem quite the same again!
I’m super excited for this book! So many wonderful authors and booktubers are involved in this, and I am so looking forward to reading all the different stories about all our favourite book villains!
There are more books I’m looking forward to, but these are the ones I am really, really eager for!
What are your most anticipated reads? (You’ve probably already done this post in which case, you are better than I am.)
Until next time,
